A Little PDF Acumen

Here’s another worthy tip resource, this time one devoted exclusively to PDF and PostScript. The Acumen Journal is a free PDF training publication put out by Acumen Training. It comes out on an irregular schedule (last year there were issues in January, June, August, and November). Each issue has two articles, one on PostScript (super techy-geeky) and one on using Acrobat (for the masses). I’ve been receiving the Acumen Journal for years, since I took one of the author’s PDF classes at a Seybold Seminars sometime in the early 00’s.

I haven’t always read it, but each time I did pop one open, I learned something. F’rinstance: didja know that you can move a table from Acrobat to Excel with one click? Select the table content and right-click and choose Open Table in Spreadsheet. It launches Excel and puts the table content in place. Pretty neat.
